To find peace in a future without humans. I fantasize about large infrastructure without purpose, animals and insects ruling the world, and a nature that keeps doing what it always have been doing.
Minuscule human decisions. Friends that really didn’t matter. Leaders that praised possibility in the light of extinction. Where there is uncertainty there is opportunity for peace based on acceptance.
Acceptance of it might working. Acceptance of random death. Acceptance of horrible events. Acceptance of global war. Acceptance of asteroid collisions. Acceptance of ever-lasting suffering. Acceptance of losing yourself. Acceptance of not knowing what we will become. Acceptance of becoming something else.
When none of us are here, when all that is left are memories of hope, war, and laughter. When all we remembered can no longer be retrieved. When future aliens visit and don’t understand what we were. When no one comes at all. When our open questions die with us.
From the simple life of one human to the collective struggles of humanity. From not being able to understand each other to not being able to understand the accumulation of everything around us. From this to that. From Earth to Mars. From intelligence to super intelligence.
This acceptance, this imagination, this love for it.
It feels more real than a lot of things here. It feels more like home than a lot of homes here.
